It’s official, School Tours 2022 at the Thumb Octagon Barn & Agricultural Museum are a go! After a two year break due to COVID-19, we are are looking forward to having the students, teachers and parents/chaperones back this year. This year’s theme is “The House/The Home – 100 Years Old!”
School Tours 2022 are scheduled for Wednesday, May 11th, Thursday, May 12, and Friday, May 13th, 2022! Mark your calendars/planners. This is a unique educational learning experience for preschool through eighth grade students. Volunteers: we are looking for your return as well and bring your friends to help!
In 2022, highlighted will be the James and Cora Purdy house. It has been 100 years since the eleven room, seven bedroom house was completed. The Purdy family stayed for the first time in their newly built house on May 19, 1922. In Cora’s diary entry from May 19th, 1922, she wrote: “ First nights lodging in our new home, all rested well.”
