2017 Open House Weekend Saturday & Sunday, July 29-30

Please stop by on Saturday July 29th or Sunday July 30th for the annual open house weekend. This is the time to bring your friends and relatives for a free tour of the site. Louie and Linda Wehrman will be in the grain elevator telling the story of wheat production from years ago to current methods. If you haven’t heard the story, come on out-it’s great! (I was able to hear it during school tours). The grain elevator will be in full operation. Have you ever seen a “leg” operate? Do you know what kind of foods you eat today that contain wheat? Do you know what a fanning mill does? If not, then come and get the answers. There is a new extension on the building and a new round granary next door. That’s not all, the Purdy Home, the Powerhouse, the School house and other buildings will be open. If you would like a snack, there will be cookies and lemonade. You will also have an opportunity to sign up for free drawings from all five Tuscola County Historical Museums participating in this year’s annual open house weekend
